You drive a light mech, you know you have an unfair advantage over everyone else. How do you square this in your head? Put aside the fact that PGI has not called what you do cheating. How do you go out every match, in a mech that you and everyone knows has an unfair advantage. If you were a 13 year old i would understand why you enjoy having an I win button. I loved cheat codes when i was 13.

You're right, real men play heavy or assault.

Because I enjoy piloting my Jenner. And I act more like I'm 5.

Why is the fault of the player base if PGI won't fix what you consider to be unfair? True in the MW universe it would be suicide for a jenner to run up to a Atlas, but that is beside the point.

That's like asking why are there ******** in the world. Some people just are like that. No big mystery about it.

DERP

I actually got my start by getting three commandos with all the elite abilities unlocked. I find it offensive that you would start a thread like this. Some of us want to learn how to handle any type of mech in any type of situation. But whatever, go ahead and rage and QQ from your pedestal.

Pfft. Light mechs aren't all cheese. My Raven-3L, that *is* cheese.

I'm a typically Catapult guy, that was just getting bummed with the way the game was moving. I didn't like ECM, I didn't like all the fast moving lights (even though my Cats reach 82kph), I didn't like all the lag shield. I'd log on, play a match or two, and then go play Minecraft.

I've had a Raven 3L for awhile that I've never really played. ECM felt dirty and all. But I figured I'd take it out for the weekend and get some double XP for it.

You know what? It was fun. I had good games in it, I had bad games in it. I'd have matches where I'd get legged and be a sitting target. One match I took a pair of AC/20s from a Cat - just running around and *BOOM* I was dead. One game we were down 3-6, and through dogged persistence we won it in the end. It was by no means a God mech. Certainly, some of the code favors lights, between ECM, the lag shield, and the way DHS were implemented, but it's just as killable as my Catapults.

Do I feel a little dirty? Sure. But I had a blast, which was the first time in awhile.

Not beside the point at all... it just means that "Dice" pilot is a better shot than most folks. :D

So you rationalize it by the false assumption good ping means no lightshield. :D

I justify driving my non-ECM spider with 30 ping by telling myself.. when I hop back into a real mech.. I will be invincible.

(30 ping does NOT give you a lagshield..)

I wish I could kick 170ms Streak ECM ravens in the nuts IRL though. (I had the 3L Elited before they were cool.. I just don't drive it because it's practically cheating..)

I don't rationalize anything. I play what I like. When I pilot my Jenner, I do my best to avoid piloting like a moron (aka bouncing off atlas legs) because I'm hopeful that they Devs will return some form of collision (punishment for bad piloting and scouts who don't know their place...aka not brawlers with assaults) and fix the netcode to improve or eliminate entirely the "lagshield" issue....and have fun.

What i consider unfair? Yeah because I alone consider it unfair. There is no consensus that lights have a huge advantage right now. Ok, lets narrow it down. Raven 3L's and commando 2D's. I had a 3L and i just felt dirty as hell playing it. Jenners, aren't so bad. I actually respect some of those guys in Jenners, when they kill you, they have earned it. It's more the bad hit box, lag shield, ecm variants i am speaking about.

They just need to add the knockdowns back in game.

I hate seeing a 100+ mph lighmech bouncing off eveything like a ping pong ball without reprecussion.

But in all due honesty considering that some of the devs prefer light mechs I seriously doubt that to happen.
